Update – 04.01.2021
We are pleased to be able to inform you that the Covid vaccination programme has now commenced in our area. We will be receiving our first batch of vaccines on 6th January at our local designated site Matthews Practice, and vaccination will commence the same afternoon . In line with national guidance, we will be vaccinating the over 80s and frontline health and care workers initially. If you are in this group and we have a mobile number for you on file, you will receive an invitation via text message in the next 48 hours.
The remaining patients will be contacted via a telephone call on their landline or a letter to offer an appointment in the next couple of days. If you are a frontline health or social care worker, at this present time we are asking you to contact your employer or the organisation that you work for to be vaccinated, as we will not have enough vaccines for everyone in the first batch although this may change soon. All other patient groups will be contacted in due course when it is their turn.
Please do not contact us to make enquiries at this busy time as we will be communicating regularly via our website and text messages as the information filters through to us. Given our limited workforce, rules of self-isolation and Covid related absences, this is likely to cause some disruption to our core work. With this in mind, it has been agreed nationally to prioritise vaccination rollout and you may find that your routine queries may take longer than usual and appointment waiting times may also be longer than anticipated.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
