There has been a significant increase in demand for ADHD assessments and treatment, to the extent that we are no longer able to manage the volume of requests coming from multiple providers offering varying levels of care. Due to this, and the considerable variation in how private providers manage their patients, we made the decision in 2024 not to enter into shared care agreements with private ADHD service providers. These inconsistencies make it challenging to ensure safe, coordinated, and effective care.

Please note that shared care arrangements are voluntary and require mutual agreement between the specialist and GPs ( based on our experience, area of expertise, commissioning considerations, balance of anticipated risks versus benefits and a host of other factors). GPs are therefore not obliged to enter into these agreements.
We understand that this will be disappointing to hear but to ensure safety, consistency and fairness across the board for all our patients, we kindly ask that yours or your child’s ADHD treatment and medication continue to be managed by their current specialist until they are seen by the NHS provider (if referred in the past). We would be happy to arrange an NHS referral for assessment as appropriate if you contact us via reception (waiting times for children is 3-8 years and adults is 5 years)
